Building a Community Together

Bcs Aims and core objectivise

We want less lonely, better-connected communities across the Birmingham, where everyone feels that they belong.

Birmingham Community Solutions knew that developing social connections with people like us, and with those who are different, helps to build individual and collective wellbeing, trust, resilience and cohesion.

We nurture stronger communities through our local work in West Birmingham  and two national programmes: the Great Get Together and the More in Common Network

Supporting Our Senior Residents

Birmingham Community Solutions provides vital support for seniors, understanding that they deserve love and attention, particularly during moments of loneliness. Seniors in shelters, for instance, often feel isolated without visitors. One powerful way to support our community is by organizing programs for local elderly residents.

Voluntary groups can assist by helping senior women and men with shopping, or by participating in initiatives like the “Adopt a Grandad” project. There are many simple yet meaningful ways to brighten a senior’s day—whether it’s a short walk, an hour of conversation, or simply offering companionship. Additionally, volunteers can teach seniors how to use modern technology, helping them stay connected with loved ones.

During holidays, especially, providing extra support and companionship can make a significant difference in a senior's life. By dedicating our time and effort, we can ensure they feel loved, valued, and appreciated.
